Noel Kennaby
Noel Martin Kennaby was Dean of St Albans from 1964 until 1973.〔''Ecclesiastical News New Dean Of St. Albans '' The Times Thursday, Oct 24, 1963; pg. 14; Issue 55840; col D〕 He was born on 22 December 1905, educated at Queens' College, Cambridge〔Who’s Who 1992 (London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3514-2〕 and ordained in 1930. His first post was as a curate at Epsom after which he was priest in charge of Christ Church, Scarborough then Vicar of St Andrew’s Handsworth.〔(Church web-site )〕 In 1943 he became Rural Dean of Tynemouth and then Provost of Newcastle.〔(Parish history )〕 His last post before his appointment to the deanery〔(National Church Institutions Database of Manuscripts and Archives )〕 was as senior chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury.〔''Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975-76'' London: Oxford University Press, 1976 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 He died on 22 January 1994.
